Mammillaria
Les plantes succulentes du genre Mammillaria sont les plus répandues comme plantes succulentes d’intérieur, d’origine mexicaine ces cactus sont capables de résister à des températures inférieures à zéro, ont généralement des tiges plutôt basses et larges, des épines souvent crochues et dans certains cas plutôt épaisses ; ce sont des plantes particulièrement résistantes qui doivent être cultivées dans des sols très secs, dans des zones sans humidité. Ce sont des plantes qui se reproduisent très facilement et sont très résistantes à divers facteurs climatiques, elles tolèrent donc bien la chaleur et le froid, même si elles préfèrent naturellement le climat de la saison estivale ou printanière.
Lobivia
Le nom de ce genre de succulentes dérive de l’anagramme du mot Bolivie, faisant référence au pays où ces succulentes sont les plus répandues. Ces plantes sont particulièrement belles d’un point de vue esthétique car elles ont de très grandes fleurs colorées et voyantes. Ils ont besoin de sols secs, encore mieux s’ils sont mélangés avec du sable ou du gravier et ne doivent être arrosés que lorsque le sol est complètement sec ; trop d’eau endommagerait la plante car elle est habituée à des températures très étouffantes et à un climat sec. Ils tolèrent bien le froid mais gardez à l’esprit qu’en hiver il vaut mieux ne pas donner d’eau à la plante. Le pire ennemi de Lobivia est l’humidité, il faut donc placer les pots de ces plantes dans des endroits secs et si possible ensoleillés.
